About this site

Ten small pages built in one go at launch, then one more playable page in the browser each month.

Why build this

The domain was sitting there doing nothing. Rather than agonise over what useful thing to make, it's easier to admit it's for playing: small pages, no needs solved, no trends chased, no product.Whether it's fun is the only test.

Each experiment is one page. You can poke it, watch it, close it. Ten shipped at launch; one a month from December. Skip rather than catch up.

Three rules

One page, finished. No backend, no sign-up, no uploads — if one HTML file runs it, it ships. One a month after this. The first ten were a launch exception; no schedule pressure from here. Useless is allowed. No monetisation plan, no keyword research, no retitling for search.

Technical boundaries

Static: HTML, CSS and a few lines of vanilla JS. No framework, no CDN, no analytics, no cookies. Whatever you type, draw or score lives in the page's memory and dies on refresh; the only thing stored locally is the light/dark preference, one localStorage key. Sound is synthesised by the browser — there isn't a single audio file.

Light and dark, and it works on a phone. With JavaScript off the content is still fully readable, it just doesn't respond.

How it gets updated

At most four changes a month: add a lab page, add a card on the home page, add a sitemap entry, write a line here. Finished experiments are left alone.

Site rebuilt. First batch of ten: Text Ripple, Color Blind Test, Letter Grid, Draw a Circle, Ten Seconds, Sounding Line, Wait For Me, Drawn Alive, Color Memory, One a Minute.
EXP. 011 undecided. It stays empty if it doesn't happen.
